I’ve tried a lot of annotation tools that work with a browser and none of them have been particularly satisfying. Currently I’m using a locally hosted wiki that’s backed up to a Dropbox account. Having seen your demo on Scoble’s site I installed your bookmarklet.
It runs very nicely. Thank you for gifting this. I’ve tested all the functions so far and the only one that is acting strangely is ‘Share.’ It’s been a while since I sent the message to an alternate email address of mine and it has yet to arrive.

Essential, sleeeeeeeeeeek, and worthy of the moments it takes to learn scirble’s system. Would a video tutorial help with adoption? Thank you for making tracking ideas on the internet so simple to reassemble with original meaning.
Congrats on a super tool. One minor gripe, I’d like to be able to replace “ME’ with my name, especially for stuff e-mailed to other folk.
Incidentally, Share has worked for me.
I kindly request for information on whether you will release an open API soon.
I work for the University of the Witwatersrand South Africa and I recommended this tool to be integrated with the institution’s LMS.
However, we would like to have a single sign in and thus the need for an openAPI where we log them in automatically once they login to our elearning system.
Kindly advise if there are any intentions towards this in the near future.
We absolutely have plans for an API, but not necessarily soon. We’re still making considerable changes to the service on a regular basis, so it would be difficult to guarantee an API we release now would stay relevant in the future. We’re still in beta and trying new things, but once we’re comfortable our core is unlikely to undergo any immediate drastic changes, an API is definitely something we want to pursue.

2. Is the code open source, and thus can institutions deploy local instances and maybe even customize.
